Item: Doll, Topsy Turvey Doll

History: Circa my teen years, or, what I like to call the early 80s!

Condition: Good, but the tiny Little Red Riding Hood book that was in the title character's pocket is missing. Blame the visitor my mom let play with my doll. I'm still upset about that. Is it okay that I'm still upset about that?

Means2Me Story: I began to collect interesting dolls when I was a pre-teen. I still had the dolls from my childhood and if  someone saw a doll they thought I would like, they gifted it to me. 

I never played with this doll. Instead, she was always on my bed with some of my other collectibles. I would "flip" her every few weeks just to see the "other" doll. 

I just love the concept of giving a child the opportunity to create stories around two characters. Even if they tell the version of the story they know, or make up an entirely different narrative, this doll just speaks creativity.

This doll would probably be happy in the home of a child who believes in the magic of storytelling.
